The Save The Date Card should be sent some two months prior to the event, which means a few weeks before the wedding invites go out in the mail.

Save The Date Cards serve one purpose in the world of wedding etiquette. While they are certainly more attractive than ribbons placed on fingers and circles written around dates on calendars, they serve to remind your guests that the honor of their presence is requested on the day you and your spouse-to-be are slated to exchange wedding vows.

Save The Date Cards are efficient reminders – that is unless the recipient is

1 – either a very forgetful

2 – and/or highly disorganized

3 – doesn’t have a calendar or fridge to put it on.

Well – if the above is the case, many mishaps can occur. These can range from throwing the card out by mistake to misplacing it to mistaking it for a bill thrown into a pile on a desk barely used perhaps because the desk can no longer be located. Don’t let any of these possibilities stop you from sending them out.

So – heck – that is why you bother – they are the proper way to let your guests know that they will soon be receiving an official invitation to your wedding and that they should adjust their plans accordingly.
